We (INDT) did the patch for the kernel, and added it to the official projects, etc... then canola was since the beginning made with the possibility, so that's the good part, we don't need to do anything (at least in the basic of course there's a lot of work) to thing just "fit" to the screen

The thing was that people were talking that they would like to see canola on portrait mode, so other team here made it, we tested it and showed to people can see how it looks like, but it's not fully usable still, needs some tweaking (but the basic can be achieved with quite small work just on the theme)

I would love Canola in portrait mode. As many others have said, this change would force me to mount the N810 in the car. I just couldn't help my self. Goodbye iPod.

Do I read that rightly, that you mean the kernel patch has been submitted to the right places that we might expect to see it appear in an official Nokia kernel at some point? That would be very nice!

gtallan : yes, the work is fully done in the official trees if nokia updates it gets the patches

Yes we indeed would really like to see it happening, then we would for sure officially release a "turnable" version of canola
