i have no idea why yet, but confirmed that everything is working. the only other thing i can think of is that i disabled a duplicate repository for maemo extras. the other one did not call out chinook or diablo.... maybe this had an effect on the dependencies?

updated: here are some screenshots

I am now officially confused....

After multiple uninstalls & cleanups run... Canola2 2.0 Launches Yeah!

New interface is nice and the ability to remove icons from the home screen are cool.

It is however v___e___r___y slow loading ( indexing at start is turned off)

I can navigate to my media folder on the external SD and see all my music listed...however no files are found?

I had to install Mediabox to listen to my music (nothing against MB but I did like Canola better)

[Edit]
I re-installed Canola in the morning and it didn't cure my problem (still got this missing _md5 module error). Now I re-installed Tuning plugin and the problem disappeared. Back to happy.

So the Tuning plugin is now fixed but Canola itself can still have dependency problems.

I had same problem but restarting Canola fixed it. I'm not able to add new files at the moment but have to test it when I get back home. Hopefuly you don't need to restart every time that you change the library..

I didn't have any dependency issues when it successfully installed. I would strongly recommend that you try matching up your repository entry for Maemo Extras with how I have it. I have a feeling that this is what was causing problems.

I think so too - because my repositories are set up just like you have - and I did not realize that I had an entry that did not explicitly say 'diablo' and turns out that I do - and maybe that is the reason I did not have any issues.

Guys,

sorry for the lack of reply, and unfortunately like GeraldK pointed out, the Canola team was officially dismissed, and Etrunko is doing whatever he can in his free time.

I checked and unfortunately the site was sending email to the wrong address ( marcelo.oliveira ) now is marcelo.eduardo

Anyhow, Etrunko is the only one that can fix this, He was already looking into the issues, as I was got some messages from old users on my personal gtalk account. But now he has been on vacations ( he was also fixing several stuff but the focus was to get it working on the Maemo5). He pointed out that it looked like a lot of things changed in the repos, so the fix was not straight forward.

We really want to dedicate more time to that, but we were also overloaded with current projects and lack of new team members. So even free time has been a problem.

Anyhow, the situation is quite serious and we are deeply sorry, we tried our best to convince people here that the app deserved "comercial" grade support, but people said "don't worry" community will take care what of course didn't happens even when we told them it wouldn't .

Etrunko will for sure enter and come back to you with updates.

Best regards

Marcelo

Hey Marcelo,

It was a good feeling to see your icon! Thanks for checking in to let us know what is happening. Looking forward to hearing from Etrunko.

BTW, I may have missed something, but I don't think Canola's source has been released yet, correct? (If not, not sure how the community could fix this.)

Thank you!
H.
