hi Paul

I'm not sure if this will help. but i got an email yesterday from from the gentleman that managers the app and told me the app found in extra-devils has now been updated and is working for the 2011 F1 season.

I looked for it myself but it was not there i assume that is because I already have a version of it installed (the one one here)

I can confirm that the updated live-f1 in extras is working.

This in my opinion works better than the solution offered by colin.stephane as it does not require font size alterations. No offence intended Colin, but my eyes were straining to watch the tiny font :P

Cheers,
Fred

i don't see why not, the program works via the xterminal

open source ftw! https://launchpad.net/live-f1

hoping it will work for the 2012 season. Australia event will happen in 2 weeks time. Last year it wasn't working for the first couple of races. Maybe because f1.com decided to change some settings.. *shrugs*

Hello!

I am an F1 fan and would love to see this working on N9. But I am new to linux and would appreciate some help on how to get started. For example, I was confused on how to install the application from the link given above.

Also, is it possible to work on such programs (that run in the terminal) for MeeGo using Qt SDK running on a Windows PC?

Thanks!

[EDIT]
You should extract the data parsing codes first.
[/EDIT]

You probably need to first wrap the C code under Qt...
In principle this should not be too hard and definitely worth a try if you want to learn Qt. I see the app use socket for communication... that is totally out of my scope. I was hoping to see some http communication for simpler QML implementation.

If you get it working, then you should make a QML interface.
