Please read my earlier post about both the problem and the solution for the Nokia Software Updater. It actually WAS a server problem. You have to download the image manually and place it in the folder where the updater tries to download it to. If your Ovi Suite doesn't recognize you N900, it could be because you have the 2.0 version (which strangely enough didn't support the N900, although the nokia site claimed it did). There's been some talk abou that in some threads here. I guess it could also be if you have a really old Ovi suite...but doesn't sound too likely.

The issue is that N900 won't let me OTA says I have to use NSU.
Trying to use NSU doesn't work using ovi suite. Ovi suite says my N900 is not recognized.
No I don't have ovi suite 2.0 version
This is the ovi info I pulled from the "about"
Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1
Nokia Photos 1.5.242.0
PC Connectivity Solution 10.6.2.0
Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.27.0
Nokia Ovi Suite Software Updater 2010.6.0.60359
Maps Service API 3.0.38.0
Nokia mPlatform 2.6.86
Ovi Desktop Sync Engine 1.1.0.82
Operating system:
Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 3

Deleted it all and only installed software updater but it can't recognize the phone, just hangs in there searching.
When trying to update it from the phone it says to use pc software updater.
Spent whole night trying this, don't know what else to do.
I don't really wanna mess with flashing and more technical stuff, don't really want to lose data or brick my phone since I'm not very good at this it seems. Also using win7 64bit...
Tried deleting some apps(fmms, dataplan thing that's in conflict now) but didn't help. I know last thing I installed was sygic maps, but I'm reluctant to delete that because it's rather large and I don't have backup files around...
