Get the facts right. Of cause N900 will be the worst in Phone features, but the best in internet tablet computer.
I'm confused...I just made a phone call using my n900 about 15 minutes ago...

How did it do that if it is not a phone?

Its absoloutly **** rotation thing, whenever I use the phone it rotates all the time, even though ive turned the setting off.

Absoloutly **** signal, for example I can never get a signal at work and browse the internet, yet everyone else with their phones can? Absoloute wank. Always getting internet connection failed, and even when the signal is on full bars and its on 3.5g, webpages dont work at times.

Its laggy.

The Ovi store is an absoloute joke.

For some reason when I try to update things it says there is not enough memory or somthing along those lines, when infact theirs loads.

Absoloutly **** playlist feature.

Another problem with the music player, it takes ages to load all my songs up, and when scrolling down to a song/artist in the list it always seems to scroll past what I want, it usually jumps from E > Y for example, and when I do play a song, for some reason I cant replay that song.

The horrific battery time and battery reading. I turn everything off (3G etc) and the battery hardly lasts, and at times the battery has been on take for example half a charge, I turn the phone off and then back on the battery is near empty. It also takes ages to charge via USB.

The list is endless.

I just want to know why Nokia think it is okay to release such an unstable phone? Im paying 35 quid a month for this peice of **** not to work. Theres so many times I feel like just smashing it up, it annoys me so much.

I think the only decent thing about the phone is the camera.

Knew I should have got a blackberry or iPhone.

Rant over. Flame all you want. Thanks.
did u try to flash it ?
did u try the new firmware ? what firmware do u have ?
did try to post ur problems be4 whining ?

never the less ill have to agree with , the N900 is the worst phone ive ever owened , but its much much more than a phone ..

The OP have just joined T.M.O this month and this thread is actually contains all of his posts.

Now, if you were to buy the N900 and having continues problems with it, you'd probably ask for help - won't you? Well, the first thing the OP did was to start a flame thread > hence, he's just a Android/iPhone fanboy, that just wanted some action because he doesn't have a life or friends or both...

And you all fell in his trap
Okay.

I've had the phone for 7 months now and been browsing the forums since ive had it. When I bought the phone id done quite abit of research, it was either going to be this, the iphone or the motorola droid, I chose this for many reasons. Anyway, since day 1 ive had problems with it and over time its got worse. In the 7 months of having it ive been hoping things would get better, for example a media player that actually works, or for that matter a "smart phone" that actually works and does what it advertises to do, better apps and ovi store (not even a facebook app?) and even the app manager takes forever to load, the list is endless. I've been paying 35 quid a month for somthing that doesnt work properly, do the basic functions, I mean ive waited and waited for things to be fixed and after 7 months still nothing.

Don't get me wrong there's some decent things about the phone, the camera, SMS is easy and never fails on me and there's a few other things.

I just think the amount of problems with the phone compared to other smart phones out their is disgracefull, I shouldn't have to mess about finding ways to fix problems, for £35 a month for 24 months it should work flawlessly out of the box. I really wouldn't be that fussed if I encountered these problems once every so often, but it's every day without fail. Infact I can gurantee tomorrow when i get in the car in the morning and play the internet radio it will not connect and I will have to restart the phone, or the signal with just suddenly drop from 4 bars to one, etc etc.

Meh/

There.. that is how you write. To bad you didn't at first. So.. what have you tried to fixing this problems? Don't be general.. be specific. Start another thread about it.

Whats about the media player? I am not sure what you could do about the signal. Maybe change the carrier? In my case i have better signal than my friends. One time when we went on a trip two of their died but i still had.

I'll give you a hint. Did it ever occur to you that maybe you're wrong and the phone's right? I know it's probably hard for someone like you to imagine a world in which you could possibly be wrong, but just try it. If the device is telling you it's run out of rootfs space (let me guess, you havent heard of that, havent bothered looking into it, and just assume you have "loads of space" because the 32gb eMMC isnt full yet) then it probably is, and that's also almost guaranteed to be the source of pretty much every other problem you've drivelled on about.

Go take a look at that, then come back with a sensible non-whiney post asking how you might have filled your rootfs partition, what the consequences of that are, and if anyone can help you sort it out, instead of drivelling on blaming anything you can think of, and you might suddenly find you get a helpful response and a working device.
While I think whiny posts are getting old, in his defense, the only way of knowing about the rootfs concept is by coming here. Every other mobile operating system only have to deal with how much RAM is available and how much ROM is left. The N900 is advertised as having 32GB of ROM available to the end user and I think they have every right to complain is for some reason the device complains about full memory if /home and MyDocs appear as empty. I mean there are no way to show how much memory is available out of the box without having to use the CLI...

I mean I like my N900 and all but some of you guys replies to whiners are sometimes pretty misguided.

I don't think you can consider yourself an N900 owner if you haven't contemplated at least once smashing the thing into a million pieces.
