You can put transition.ini file in the usr/share/themes/ in the folder of your curent theme to keep your original transition.ini file intact! restart after!

MohammadAG pointed us to hildon-desktop git master trunk so I think he has merged all patches in his clone... just that the file name is a bit confusing.

It's the latest commit, the version number was lowered so it wouldn't cause conflicts, kinetic was just a filename change so it wouldn't overwrite my previous fix.

In English, a question ends with '?' and not with '!!'.

For all the other scrolling issues, read these posts:

Assuming that you've talked to lma already (who's been pushing Diablo community updates), please ping me if you want to have a product in bugs.maemo.org similar to the existing "diablo-community-updates" one.

Hi there,

I applied both the Faster kinetic scrolling patch and the transitions.ini change. It works great. But when browsing applications now, the wallpaper is not darkened anymore, which makes it really difficult to read fonts and light icons. In my case, and with my wallpaper (the default one, with water), it was far more readable before.

I don't know which one of the patch or of the transitions.ini changed it. Does anyone know how I can change this setting back? I just want to enable darkening of the wallpaper, not to revert the changes in the scrolling behaviour I made, if possible.

Revert the transitions.ini file you had before changing it.
Or, reinstalling hildon-desktop (even this fixed one) should revert it, too, AFAIK.

Install transition control from devel (WARNING ITS devel so do not install any other stuff if you do not really know what you are doing) And add more blur from that app.

If you do not want to install that you can edit transition file by hand:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Customizing_Maemo#Transitions
Needs root access first.

Thanks to both of you. I installed transitioncontrol, but what is the option changing the wallpaper brightness when browsing applications? I changed the blur one as you said, but it didn't change the wallpaper brightness when browsing applications. The only thing it changed (as far as I know) is the disappearance speed of opened apps thumbnails when switching.
