This is the bit I love:
“Note: Parts of the case are magnetic...... Do not place credit cards or other magnetic storage media near the case, because information stored on them may be erased.”
So 16gb of data on the two SD cards is safe then?
From what I have seen, the case arrangement on the N770 was nigh on perfect, so why then did Nokia make the decision to dump it? Can’t we have it back for the N800?

Of course they are not, I should have thought for a brief moment before posting. My panic was prompted by a flashback to when I lost a lot of music compilations on cassette tapes due to a motorcycle magnetic tank bag. Thanks for your patient correction.HTML Code:SD cards are not magnetic storage.
Actually I am hoping that the case is not leather. I find it incongruous that we choose to encase hi tech equipment in dead animal skin. And even if it isn’t leather I also find it odd that it has to be a leather look alike. Apart from anything else all that folding, lining, seams and stitching just adds to the bulk.

Well it was worth the wait and the price.
Like most, I have had issues finding the right case.
At first I used the slip case that came with the device. I thought it was
OK, but I knew I would get something better.
I first ordered a cheap leather case from e-bay and it shipped from China.
It was perfect, except it had a terrible smell like formaldehyde.
so I returned it.
I then decided to not be cheap, and I orderd the PD air case-book style.
I thought for $10.00 more it will be very nice. Well it also had the
exact same formaldehyde smell, so I returned it.
So next I ordered the Box-Wave case that I have been happy with, and
using for a while now...BUT it has no cover!
Now I have the Nokia cover, and I love it. It has all of the good things
that the box wave case has + a cover. I really like how the outer edge
of the siver on the N800 shows when the cover is down. I love the clean
lines look, it is very stylish. The photos don't do it justice.
I have to mention that the cleaning cloth it comes with is no cheapo
freebie. It's heavy and thick and has a nokia logo on it(for those that
like that type of thing). It would be a $5.00-$7.00 cloth on it's own.
Also the extra magnets are very nice. I won't use them but I may put
them up anyway. They are quite large about 5/8" x 3" and also have
a Nokia logo on them.
I had no issue putting the magnet on the back of the N800. It's silver, my
favorite, and the color works with the silver on the front and the
back tab over the battery cover is silver too, so it all works.
Sorry if I sound like such a Nokia fan freek. But when they try they do make
some very nice things.
And I must agree that the device is more easy to use in this cover than
any other I have tried.
When the cover is open and hanging fliped back, the weight of the flap
makes the device feel balanced in your hand and makes it easier to
hold.
