Done that in January 2014, link deliberately put in the message you quoted.
Price dropped by $5 US since then.

Thanks Pichlo, seems a new/better/cheaper model is now available.

Unfortunately that one does not fit the Jolla device backside!
The e-paper measures 113.26x71.94 which is more than 5mm wider than Jolla

The 3.5'' one looks interesting.
But... any idea about eInk controllers?

ok, ok, will get one GDE035A3 for testing.

edit: Damn shipping $20 for crappy EMS from aliexpress, went to other sources, got DHL for $30, and evaluation board with USB connection, and... $200 well spent maybe.

(What is wrong in the picture?)

Is there something newer/better/cheaper like what pichlo ref'd, but with the right dimensions?
The one you've gone for, is the one that Kabouik ref'd in January 2014.

Still, it's better than nothing, thanks for taking the initiative...

Datasheets, controller manual and some Keil sample code is here: http://www.good-display.com/products...uctId=103.html

Looks more interesting... probably can be driven from the STM32 without anything extra.

That was a long time ago so I'm not sure anymore, but I seem to recall that, at the time, I did find larger eInk screens, but encountered the same issue as with the 4.3" one: they wouldn't fit in a Jolla OH. That was why I gave the link to the 3.5". There were no intermediate sizes at the time, perhaps there are now. Perhaps there are thinner alternatives too, I don't know (but the 3.5" screen is already quite thin).

In any case, there were already larger screens back in 2014, so I don't think the 3.5" is much more outdated now. It was just the largest compatible size.

Great to know that you ordered one Kimmo! See the bright side: you have spared $5 US, as the price decreased since January 2014.

The location of the connector is not optimal indeed! At least it doesn't cover the camera when the screen is moved to the left of the Jolla back cover though. :|

Do you have any idea on how to use this screen anyway in the toheink?
