Crikey! I'd guess proximity sensor or ambient light sensor being blocked, yes.

I personally tried these cases and took pics at a Staples in Toronto.

This does not fit. Do not waste your time. ($28)

This fit quite nicely. Perfect width. About 1/2-3/4in room at the top. ($15)

The Gollas fit perfectly. ($15)

This was a perfect fit but horrible in terms of material. ($27)

Very interesting. I wonder, does the Zagg screen protector hinder battery life as well?

edit: Nevermind. The Zagg looks like there is a hole for the proximity sensor.

One piece goes around the edge of the screen with holes for buttons, ports, etc. The other covers the back and sides of the keyboard with holes for camera, ports, etc.

Google or ebay for "n97 rubberized hard case" for pictures.

I hope there's a case and screen protectors for the N900 soon. I'd like to pre-order them to arrive with the phone as I'm guaranteed to drop or scratch it if I don't have them!
wrapsol (www.wrapsol.com) has a skin for it

I bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=290386256129
And I received it today. It's in two "pieces" so sliding out the keyboard is no problem. You also have access to all buttons(even including the stand). The piece for the screen feels like it will slip off any minute even though I know it wont, and also you can see some edges where it's molded togheter, but otherwise it's a great purchase. And for the price, there's nothing to talk about, really. It even protects the Nokia logo on the front. I will also buy a Invisible Shield screen protector, then my N900 should be completely safe, I hope

If you want some pictures, just tell me and I'll take some, since the photo on the eBay don't even show how it looks with the cover on the phone.

EDIT: It even came with a screen protector that look like the one in this post: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=496892&postcount=1

I was aching for a black version of this case back in the day for my 770 (hand made in Spain mind you) http://www.pielframa.com/nokia_770.htm I'm sure if they made an N900 case it would be attractive.

I really hope Proporta makes one for the N900. I missed getting one for my N800.
Hi, I just purchased a Noreve cover for my N900 and it has been an absolute dissapointment. First they did not have the item I ordered in stock (even though the website said they did). They then send across a different product - i wanted a black one, they send a grey-green one claiming it is charcoal. The item recieved also looked to be a used or refurbished item - worn edges are a key tell tale. After requesting a refund they asked to ship it back - the cost of which would negate any refund amount.
End result - stuck with an item that looks used, isnt the color i want and have no way of returning.

Thoroughly dissapointing experinece - my advice - never buy a product from this company - its over hyped, over priced and lousy.

on top of that upon my complaint of the quality, the customer rep 'Cynthia' responds;

no problem... Have a good day.

Is that the same as this? I think there are two types of clear cases, a hard one and a flexible one. Do the tabs that hook onto the phone feel strong?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're the same. The tabs on the bottom part feels strong but the top part tabs feel not that strong, but I managed to hold the phone only by the top part so I guess it will hold. Neither part have fell off during usage at least, so that's good. And really, for 3$ I wouldn't have cried blood if it weren't any good.

Yeah Cynthia is well known already ..

Edit: I was ordering one from Eixo which has similar design like the classic one from noreve - and also a little disappointing to me at least.

They come in a gift box inside a felt bag. I use that bag to sit the N900 on when it is just on my desk. (Yep I am fussy so do everything I can to keep it scratch free). The only thing with this case and any horizontal one I imagine is you remove the N900 on an angle rather than pull it straight out as it can flick the unlock slider as it is a snug fit. That is really nit picking though. I could not be happier with it and I avoided the magnet issue with this closure. I customised it with red inner and my initials and this closure. First class guy to deal with also.

I have a clear protector on my N900 to protect the screen. Love that also. Really easy to put on (don't let the water method scare you).

Hope this helps.
I see the customization options now. Looks good. I may go with a different closure though. I see there are two types of snap closures available for the D2, designated as "Two magnetic snaps" and "Two snaps". Is the "Two snaps" closure non-magnetic?

Is there any functional difference between the two different belt loops?

Am I correct in assuming that the belt clips include the belt loops?

How good is the quality of the belt loops and clips?

How does the leather compare to Noreve? Is it better than your typical cheap ebay stuff?
