The logical approach to picking contenders for the "Smartphone championship" would have been:

1st) hold the "Android cup"
2nd) then throw the top 3 Androids into the "smartphone championship" together with the winners of Symbian, IOS , WebOS, Maemo, opensmartphone-OS and other cups.

It might have helped Android users to unite and think about their primordial choice for Android in contrast to being hold back to support the finalist due to ongoing envying of the glorious amoled multitouch of the Galaxy my phone S than yours

Starting form an OS cup would have and make the end battle more epic.
