Make sure /media is set as the the dvd path in settings if your linux automatically mounts them under it. Then insert a DVD and wait until it's mounted. Then select 'Go to root' from client menu and it should find it.

I tried that and it doesn't seem to work too well. If any of the sites you use allow you to download videos, you can try copypasting one address manually to Knots database under 'Edit Media' -> 'New item' and test.

Oh and there's a new diablo client at -devel, let me know if it's not good enough to promote to extras.

Sweet!

Looking forward to trying that suggestion when I get home tonight along with your latest version.

Hey, one more question.

Ever here of something like this?
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.p...?content=98762

Would that be possible under Knots?

I know you're always on the lookout for tremendously awesomenessively and gianourmously magnanimous suggestions from your flock of followers.

Nice idea, but maybe too much work for too little gain. First of all syncing text and music would be pretty much impossible because of streaming and different amount of buffering. Knots can't be 100 percent sure what the actual position is, it syncs the info from server from time to time, but client can be many seconds off.

And that particular app is written in python and Knots isn't. And besides, it's not so hard to follow the lyrics on screen.

If you want karaoke, Knots can do karoke. Just get the songs in cdg/mp3 format and scan them normally. VLC handles cdg nicely.

I'm very excited to learn that Knots will now show still images!

(I had asked for this a while back, but was met with a "no" - the problem for me up until now has been, other streaming data solutions either can't or won't deal with such large resolution images. Not that my images are all that big, by today's standards, about 3-5 MB each, but still I couldn't get them to come over the WAN.)

Anyway, this is a great development for Knots, then! However, the problem now is that Knots will only show one pic at a time, as a "five-second movie", as you say in the wiki, Ukki. What I'd like is a way to "play" the entire contents of a folder, without having to return to the folder and change to the next "movie".

Is this already possible, maybe, some sort of playlist, and I'm just unaware of it? Anyway,I'm still very pleased that Knots will transcode those big pics for remote viewing - another victory for you, Ukki.

So Knots can handle Karoke music file formats?

Awesomeness!

Can't wait to get my tone deaf on this weekend!

Cheers Janne!

Yes, this is possible. You can create a new playlist for images, then browse by path for example and select "Add results to playlist" from the menu to add all visible items to a playlist. Or you can click on individual item and add them one by one.

Then go to your playlist and press play. Knots should then playback all as a slideshow.

HELP !
hello guys
i need some help
am connected to my home's wireless router to the internet
i downloaded the knots server and ran vlc and started the server and i was able to add music to my collection on knots and everything was going smoothly on the pc. in the settings i did not modify anything really ( am using windows 7 )
i downloaded the client on my n900 and i was connected to the network just fine on my laptop.
i was able to browse my added files on knots from the n900 client BUT the problem is when i click a song on my n900 it shows that its playing but no music comes out. same with video as it shows the video play but no image is there
i can see the files on my n900 and can play them but with no actualy music or video coming out.
i have a k-lite codec media pack installed on my windows if that matters and also whenever am on my PC trying to play my added collection in the knots server THE SAME HAPPENS
on the PC flow player opens and then starts playing the song but no noise comes out. its a really annoying problem.
anyone can help me please ?

I've been on the fence about this application for some time.

Would someone please state some of their own usage example/scenarios and that might trigger an idea w/in me

Like, "I use knots 2 when I..."
