Its not just the sales person .. Apple has been guilty of it too .. The original iphone was a feature phone .. what did Apple brush it up as ..

Yeah, and their attitude is that they know everything most of the time.

I still see the iphone as a feature phone with some additional smartphone abilities - just like s40.

The term smart phone was hijacked to make the average ignorant consumer feel 'smart'. Suddenly they could check weather on their phone and use currency conversion tools and then came the fart apps. People forget Nokia had an App store years before the iPhone (not implemented that great but perhaps the market/tech wasnt ready?) and the N95 I ran with managed to outdo the iphone original (and 3g) in almost every way.

It is still a device that is made to run Apps. it's an App Device. One interface with square buttons to open Apps.

As much as we might complain about apple and the unjust popularity it gains I rather own a device that performs and meets most of my expectations then a device that I spend hundreds of £'s on and then convince myself that is truly is magical. Sad that the mobile/tablet world has been corrupted by imitators.

Afaq, Apple made installing apps easy.. Nokia failed in that .. Sure you can do paralell downloads and install on Nokia Store (bye ovi), but the apple "app" store is actually nicely laid out, especially on the ipad.

Talking of tablets ...

no one denies iphones ease of use. id rather not start a nokia vs apple debate because im sure most of us are in agreement on the key issues.

as for nokia apps - i hope intels appUp store has a big part to play in all of this. ovi was and is a major failure.

Depends what i want from that device, if we look at demographics, most people wanted a featurephone that could check their email or go on facebook.. The iphone serves that task and does that well. Android tries to copy and give extra options. Symbian erm well just gives you every option that you could possibly change but not make it easy for jessy's girl.

Question is has Nokia lost Jessy's girl for good ..

Well it is what it is... Have a nice nap but I am now afraid to sleep as I may dream of candy bars, candied apples and mangos. What a nightmare!
