well at least they are now recognizing the problem.....but still, i cant seem to see the very limited part, besides, many already complained before they announced that this issue comes with the warranty

Maybe Nokia know that most of their manufactured devices have a properly mounted USB port, although that may just be wishful thinking on my part.

OMG! what the heck!
that message suppose to be already spread on this days.

So, there is no good communications inside that company or what is going on Nokia!!!!

My n900 is on the way to NokiaUSA care, I sent it thru my local dealer the last week, and if they refuse to fix it and return it back here to Perú (Latam)...... WTH should I do Again? Try sent it back to nokia care again to see if they finally get the message and if they willing to fix their fault (design flaw!) !!

OMG this is turning into a nightmare!

No Nokia is not recognising the problem. The repair stores are independent entities that have to follow Nokias guidlines.

Nokia (as far as I can tell) is still sticking to the Pads gone your fault argument.

so when an n900 is returned for repair of the microUSB port, and if the problem is the removal of "pads" they will point that out as "poor device handling" and repair it out of warranty?

I don't think the situation on this is clear, yet.

No, they're not. The most recent communication clearly shows they have changed their stance on this to the customer's favor. But the ripple won't be immediate.

Mine did this crap just yesterday.
I pulled the usb charger out of the phone and woop, it came off.

This issue better be in the warrenty, especially when you think about how you have to freaking re-charge the phone just about everyday ( which imo is actualy really annoying)
So i'm heading over to the store i bought it from to send it to get it repaird.
I was told if they cant repair it, or if it keeps happening, i'd get my money back.

Where is this quote. As I was on the phone to Nokia Cares head office this morning and they were not willing to state they would repair with pad damage.

The last quote I saw did not really state this.

It's a few pages back in the threads.

Maybe it's a difference in personal interpretation, but I see it as I said.

And please don't equate a repair center rep's stubbornness or ignorance with official policy. Again: the ripple effect can take a while.
