ooo that makes more sense - wonder what software versions he is on, could be an early version, or may as he is saying be the actual device! (I didn't read it carefully enough i assume!)

This explains why he got the device so soon:

I won the N900 at the Chicago N900 Meetup. The "Wonderful" Katja from Nokia sent it to me from Finland. I don't think Nokia is shipping production models quite yet.

Its a bit odd for Nokia to send pre-production model as price though, because they wont let users to have them. But who knows...

Well, now at least I have some reason to wake up tomorrow morning and check my email
But still Im setting my mind for week 48, so I wont be too much disappointed if nothing happens...

Why would it be pre-production model?

They dont get stock they said to me its sent directly from nokiaretail as they MPD run Nokia retail outlets cant wait

thats why when you go online to MPD and click on the n900 it directs you to the nokia site because they work together

Oh my only concern is you may not get from first batch as you preordered late because they do say first come first served

This fellow has received his from DHL. Also it seems like the new firmware has made a huge difference in battery life

Wait, he has a real N900 or one of the developer's pre-production units?

Either way, glad to see the good news about the improved battery life.
