Has anyone tried Red Pill mode? It doesn't work on mine. Also what was the download size for other users? I read on the next that it was abotu 18 MB but when I did an update through NSU I was pulling 116 Mb file. The update wiped my apps but the settings were left intact. Also Telepathy plugin was gone but after reinstalling all settings were there...kind of weird.

Red Pill mode is, probably quite rightly, consigned to history with this update - just install rootsh and use xterm for pretty much everything you needed Red Pill mode for in the past.

The Over The Air (OTA) update is about 18MB but a full root file system image - which is what NSU will download and install/flash - is going to be over 100MB, and by installing a fresh rootfs you will lose all your previously installed apps (which would have been retained with the OTA update). If you had taken a backup your apps would have been automatically re-installed during the reboot,

Sounds normal if you had reflashed your device.

Yes, Red Pill is disabled by the update. The change has been discussed widely here.

Yes, a full firmware image is larger than a small bundle of patches to existing firmware.

The update wiped my apps...
You didn't just install the update, you did a full flash. That will always wipe the root filesystem and therefore, applications.

...but the settings were left intact.
Settings are not on the root filesystem, where the firmware lives, so firmware flashing doesn't affect them.

Also Telepathy plugin was gone but after reinstalling all settings were there...kind of weird.
No, normal. See above.

Since installing this update the device has inherited some issues:

At times none of my shortcuts or widgets respond to taps at all but I'm still able to flick to a different desktop, and the top menu still works. This never happened until I installed this update. I'm forced to reboot to get rid of this. Also, If I go to app manager, there are no more buttons - just text labels. Perhaps this is just the "reflect" theme's fault? I think I may just flash back to the previous revision.

It was designed to do a reboot after system update.

Try switch Theme in "settings" to some default and back - it was reported it fixes a problem.

@e-d0uble, @egoshin, I can confirm the issue, it's not related to "reflect" theme since I don't have it installed. It happened to me thrice in one day. I haven't bothered to see why yet. Could be that I have moved the themes to /opt or any number of mods done to the system. Rebooting does fix the problem.

Sure, the move would do a temporary problem. You picked up the stuff right from the dinner table of hildon manager.

Where can I download an image of the current firmware?
At http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php there still is the old 42-11 image only.
I just don't get an update for my device, so I have to reflash it. This sucks. Why don't they just release the deb-files somewhere?

Well updated and happy with it does not seem much different.

Yay my bluetooth headset does not let sound out main speakers!!! so happy for this as its a tablet + phone not the other way around.

Like if you were on the bus with a tablet or laptop with bluetooth and a messages comes in you don't want everyone to hear but yourself

Just think about chatting IM style each time someone messages you everyone hears the Beep beep now that would P*** people off don't you think?

ALSO can people please check this out. Main menu and then More folder. I can not scroll to bottom with a flick its slower and stops quicker.

In images i can flick up and it will flow down to bottom with 1 flick.

not that i use more menu very much as all app short cuts are on desktop. just wanted to know if only me or everyone.

Thanks

N900 Rocks my WORLD!!!!!
