yeah i listened to the steve jobs audio too. man, that guy will say anything he likes. and funny thing is, a lot of people actually believe him.
he did have a point about the fragmentation of the android market. and how some apps only work on some handset models.
but the DOA thing is way out of line. it's not like the galaxy tab's gonna be useless right after it comes out.

He's wrong, but that's not too surprising. There are different use cases for different tablet sizes, they do of course have to be priced accordingly.
I'm actually wondering if I will go Android or iPad for tablet. If I go with Android it would be nice to have application access on NITDroid, my first smartphone, and the tablet. But at the same time I could get cross-application access via NITDROID, my first smartphone while having access to Apple apps with the iPad.

It's interesting that people assume that smaller should cost less in tablets, when the tablets are still price competitive with smartphones with much smaller screens.
Let us know which you choose! The iPad is an excellent device from what I understand and so is the Tab. I suspect you'll be pleased with either!

Well it won't be until sometime next year. I suspect Apple will probably release an iPad update to be on par with the Android offerings. One thing that concerns me is the iTunes integration though. I'm not a fan of iTunes and I don't use Windows that often (my desktop runs Ubuntu with an XP Virtual Machine and my laptop runs Windows 7).

Trying to create a new spreadsheet on the Tab, with either Thinkfree or Docstogo is an overly frustrating experience. Nothing comparable to what you can do on Maemo with Gnumeric or OOO. To be really productive on the go, office apps for mobiles have to grow an usable gui which compensates the lack of a hw kbd. It shouldn't be impossible since the multitouch but I don't know if they perceive the problem.

I have an N900, N8 & iphone4 (all without contracts). but I'm not a "fan" of them. they're just for communication and fun. nothing more...
I don't need a phone to feel special. And I don't "love" my phone, I love my wife. We use the word "love" in a different and more appropriate context.
