Wow, I really hope they get a chance to run that user manual past a native English speaker before they start sending out the tablets...

The screenshots in the pdf are from an Android device. I wonder if the ODM is also releasing the tablet with Android pre-installed.

Ok, the article is a whole lot of crap... sorry if i sparked expectations or mislead someone. Seems like Tabletmonkeys made up most of that article from googling after the FCC ID and JT-1501...

I hope you are correct! The article says that the Jolla Tablet (JT-1501) is a Android based tablet with Sailfish OS on top of that! Ouch!

Funny is also the FCC part with the SAR value of 1.6, so it should have not been to hard to fulfill Dave999's need for 3G

I have to say I find it very disappointing that Jolla made the recipients of developer devices sign an NDA for the software as well as the hardware.

Again, everything behind closed doors with not even a semblance of openess.

The hardware I understand, as the device still isn't on sale, but SF2.0? It's already months past original launch window ... if they'd shipped developer units immediately after MWC in Barcelona, there may have been some case for it. Now? Is it really so far off production ready with less than a month left until the (significantly delayed) launch that they need to throw a rug over it?

Need I mention again that they still haven't produced any significant video (or stills) of SF2.0 ... the most we've seen of it is still handheld JerkyCam(TM) video of it at the beginning of March, 5 months ago. The PR launch video they showed a few weeks ago showed less than the original Indiegogo concept videos / sketches.

Are you crazy??? Mosen just posted a link to a site that got some weird pre-production version of the tablet, and they totally panned it. It'd be even worse if they received a valid pre-production version of the tablet. People take one look at these reviews, form a lasting impression of the product, and walk away never to return.

If you want to document your development process, that's great. But if you want to market a successful product in the modern world, you don't let anyone actually see it until after you've created a polished, relatively bug-free version.

EDIT: Ok, yeah, you're talking about the software here. My bad. But still, I give Jolla a pass here, as they've kind of tied Sailfish 2.0 and the tablet together, so I would imagine they want to increase the impact by releasing both together...
