D'oh. Suppose I should have checked there, but having run into so few problems with Tear in general, hadn't even thought about it!

I believe it's this one.

I have this problem with Amazon.com as well. I've been trying to get steps that are consistently reproduceable, but haven't yet.

For mobile use (esp. for those with tethered and metered data plan) the ability to block bandwidth-wasting elements can be extremely useful, but everyone may sometimes wish to keep CPU (and therefore battery) wasting fluff at a minimum.

Quick googling showed that there are some scripts or CSS "user styles" being used with Midori, which is likewise based on WebKit. Could any of these be used with or adapted for Tear?

FlashBlock for Midori (WebKit)

FlashBlock WannaBe

AdBlock in Midori!

The Midori FAQ also lists some user styles and scripts.

And another script, BlockFlash2
I second this question, I would love to replace MicroB completely but lack of flash in Tear is what's keeping me from kissing MircoB good bye

To clarify, AFAIK, Flash 9 works fine in Tear just as with MicroB. What's missing is a Flash blocker for individual Flash elements on a page. (I think you can disable all Flash in Tear by unchecking "Enable Plugins", but that's not ideal.) And see this thread and many others for Flash 10 upgrade messages (also not Tear-specific).

I assume that this is not related to Flash. Are you using the most recent version of Tear? Help / About will say 0.3.5-1.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a free hotspot in France. It wouldn't complete the sign-on procedure with tear (it complained about disabled cookies, maybe it's the already known bug about javascript cookies).
I had to use microb and, once the access point supposedly authorized my mac, I could use tear for browsing.

When I open a link in a new window (though the long tap, context menu) and immediately go back to the original page, it doesn't matter where I click, the page will scroll to the previously right clicked link and opens it.
Now I learned to click in a column with no content, so that when the page scrolls there's no link to open, but it's kinda annoying.
