@zurrain101
these are the transitions of the stable theme-customizer (not the one in devel or testing)

and they are optional
i just put them to make a perfect N900

as corduroysack you can find the transitions you like

see this

read somewhere that keeping 1000 or higher value will basically would increase battery life by not cleaning cache on frequent basis. I might be wrong, may be some guru can help with the value.

Default value is 100 and swappolube does not recommend any value but keeps it as default.

VFS Cache Pressure

Description: Controls the tendency of the kernel to reclaim the memory which is used for caching of directory and inode objects. At the default value of vfs_cache_pressure = 100 the kernel will attempt to reclaim dentries and inodes at a "fair" rate with respect to pagecache and swapcache reclaim. Decreasing vfs_cache_pressure causes the kernel to prefer to retain dentry and inode caches. Increasing vfs_cache_pressure beyond 100 causes the kernel to prefer to reclaim dentries and inodes.
Default: "100"
Suggested: "100"

i don't know what will be the effect on the battery consumption
but i am testing it

I have made vfs cache pressure as 10, after reading stuff on droid forum and all, seems it makes battery last longer. I can see that battery goes down around 1% in an hour with gtalk and gvoice on 2G connected full time.

hi, kindly guide me...

first i download file speedpatch.tar.gz to my computer and unzip it...

then i tranfer the extracted 3 files to my n900;
speedpatch
speedpatch.sh
transitions.ini

when open file manager, these 3 files can be seen under
"user/" but i can't see any folder name MyDocs

then i open x terminal and type

~ $ sudo gainroot

/home/user # mkdir /usr/local/sbin
mkdir: cannot create directory ' /usr/local/sbin' : file exists

/home/user # cp /home/user/MyDocs/speedpatch.tar.gz ./
cp: cannot stat ' /home/user/MyDocs/speedpatch.tar.gz ' : No such file or directory

/home/user # tar xzvf speedpatch.tar.gz
tar: can't open 'speedpatch.tar.gz': No such file or directoriy

/home/user # mv speedpatch /etc/event.d
mv: cannot rename 'speedpatch': No such file or directory

/home/user # mv transitions.ini /home/user/MyDocs
mv: cannot rename 'transitions.ini': No such file or directory

/home/user # chmod +rwx speedpatch.sh
chmod: speedpatch.sh: No such file or directory

/home/user # chmod +rwx /etc/event.d/speedpatch
chmod: /etc/event.d/speedpatch: No such file or directory

/home/user # bash ./speedpatch.sh
/bin/sh: bash: not found

/home/user # rm speedpatch.sh
rm: cannot remove 'speedpatch.sh': No such file or directory

/home/user # /etc/rc.local
/bin/sh: /etc/rc.local: not found

/home/user #

then i reboot

then i open x terminal again and type

cd /dev/cgroup/cpu

can't see any files or directories, so the patch is not applied,,,
what to do? which step i made mistake? please guide,,,

dude you have done some wrong steps at the starting , the command tar xzvf is the to extract the zip file you have downloaded .
try putting the .tar file in MyDocs and then try these commands
