Not sure, it used to suggest that a web site page was still loading in Opera 10.1, but mine is flashing in Opera 11 and the browser is completely idle - presume it's a bug.

A couple of UI glitches I'd like to see changed:

1) Opera Menu -> Exit - this asks "Are you sure?". Really not sure this additional prompt is necessary, it would be great if this prompt could be optionally disabled in the Settings

2) The on-screen zoom in/zoom out buttons that flash on the screen as the page is scrolled - I find these a bit annoying and jarring as I keep catching a glimpse of them as they appear/disappear at the bottom of the screen (possibly not so annoying in Portrait mode as you are focused on the top of the page/screen but all too visible in Landscape). Their presence would be completely unnecessary if only the hardware Volume rocker button could be used to zoom in and out instead.

Other than that, Opera Mobile 11 is an absolute triumph (ignoring the obvious lack of Flash support which is a great shame). The page scrolling is buttery smooth, double-tap zooming works a treat (loving the text re-flow) and link detection is an absolute joy, particularly when the links are small.

I'd say OM 11 surpasses even MicroB (Flash excepted), but that should hardly come as any great surprise since MicroB hasn't changed much since the N900 was released and still has many of the same bugs it launched with.

The other alternative browser is Firefox - I picked up the 4.1a1pre nightly earlier - and all I can say is: Oh dear oh dear, what a mess.

This is a web-based fourSquare client. Once setup, Under microb geolocation takes only a couple of seconds and in a few clicks/moments I'm logged into 4sq.

With OM11 it really seems to struggle to geolocate (in same location) -- sometimes it will eventually succeed but it's a long tedious process at best.

Not sure if this is an app issue or browser, but thought you might want to check it out...

Ref wifi gelocation via google -- presumably this support is encoded within the opera application, rather than providing a new system module that adds this support (which would improve all apps) - fair enough, just wondering.

It's a great addition for when indoors and in those places with no gsm/3g signal :-)

Now setup OM11 as my default browser using http://www.my-maemo.com/software/app...7&fldAuto=1072 - will see how I get on :-)

Keyboard, auto-capitalization - passwords

I've noticed that userid/password fields (say for logging into linked in) are auto-capitalized. This does not seem to occur in microb.

I am using the physical keyboard, and auto-capitalization is enabled (and is very useful for regular text).

Is there any way to change the encoding manually? For example to utf8 or greek iso?

Press and hold links to 'open in new tab' now opens in background tab! Just brilliant, that's exactly what i wanted most...Thanks Opera team.

Awesome that they've fixed the problem with pasting in new url's - that was one of the major ways I'd go to my page and as a result, was a big factor stopping me using opera on n900 (though I use it+chrome as my main browser on most of my desktops). I don't have it set to be the default browser (almost impossible to get to maemo browser if you do, in the browser-switchboard app).

Is it a coincidence that I commented on the opera forums maemo thread just a few weeks ago about this very copy/paste issue... I wonder..

Thanks guys (and gals?) at Opera for a fantastic browser and good alternative to the builtin when one is needed; haven't tried newest firefox for it yet but last one was still tooooo slow and, I felt, not quite ready for day-to-day use yet.

Great to have so many choices - what is that, 4 different browsers, and availability of all nearly all the top web browsers and the types of library (webkit,opera's,..) used on desktop PCs. I don't care about (the never-gonna-happen) IE not being available.. If we were even x86-based I think wine might still have problems.

i thaught it supports our flash 9.4, doesn't support it ?? because it looks like it supports flash on other platformas why not ours, i don't care abput flash 10.2 or 10.1 i just want the built in flash 9 to work .
