jaysin22: Which version are you trying to install and from where? My evince builds don't require any of packages you mention. What exactly does AM says?

This build is soooooo awesome Ed!!! I love the new "Special mode" ... the next page button is right where someone would want it to flip to the next page when viewing full screen and rotated lengthwise. I'll report any possible kinks, but so far I'm greatly pleased! Thank you so much.

Hey Ed,

I'm new to this forum and came across your evince build. I used the install link you provided and had the same problems as jay mentioned.

eternalslacker: Which IT OS firmware version did you use?
Before uploading to repository I tried this build with both N800 and N810 devices flashed with OS2008 50-2 firmware and it worked just fine.
The strange thing is that evince doesn't depend on hildon-libs0 and libdbus-1-2, but on libhildon1 and libdbus-1-3. To investigate this I need to know which firmware you have and which repositories are in your AM catalog.

Thank you guys for your positive feedback.
We're close to the evince release now. I stll have one showstopper bug(#2027) to fix and another one (#1980), which is not major, but still should be fixed before release. It there will be no new major bugs I will release evince to public after fixing 2 mentioned bugs.

What I'd like you to ask is to test how evince works with ps files. To test this you need to install anidel's ghostscript build from this repo: http://www.gronmayer.com/it/dl.php?id=161

Thanks,
Ed

I'm using os2008 50-2 as well and have a fair amount of the repositories from gronmayer. I could possibly try to remove all repos and figure out if one of those is affecting the install

You could try to use the command "apt-cache policy evince" in x-term to identify the repository where evince is coming from.

Has anyone noticed that the thumbnails of the PDF's take forever to load?... maybe some sort of preloading of thumbnails could do the trick.

Anyone else seeing this?

I have the same requirements problem. As for which repos..

2.21.1-1.maemo1 0
500 http://repository.maemo.org.chinook/free Packages

Then it just repeats the 2.21.1-1.maemo2, 2.21.1.1-1.maemo3, etc.. each with 0 500 http, etc..
