I said I was done, but I just gotta say: bless you tz1 for providing such an awesome example of How It's Done.

Well, I've no mac (/, depending), but I think ptys are your ticket here.
Do something like
Code:
nc -l -p port </dev/ptyp0 >/dev/ptyp0
And let GE go to /dev/ttyp0; change p0 to an available choice in [p-sP-S][a-z0-9] if needed. I got my info on pty specifics from pty(4)

Yes, and the best way to do that is not to answer or respond to the troll message AT ALL.

A blank thread with a single posting (the troll) is the best way to silence him/her, without also censuring or trampling on the right of speech.

In fact I stayed away from this thread for the same reason, clearly understanding this was a useless troll.

8 pages of defensive ramblings against a TROLL??
Why bother at all...

I think I'm starting to understand where all the development efforts are going to, instead of improving the NIT platform.

ysss, you must not have read them! We scared the troll off long ago, flaming each other so vehemently.

Not many of the people talking in the thread are developers. :\

Well, maybe we could be, if we spent our time learning. But flamewars are soooo much more fun!

Seriously, I gave my my wife a n810, she uses it everyday. She uses it to keep in touch with family on MySpace. She plays games on it. She uses it to check webmail. She uses it to check the bank. She uses it whenever shes bored. Its running the firmware it shipped with, which is 1 version old. She has become a addict like the rest. She has not once asked me to fix anything, or install anything. She is a stay home mom of 4 with very little computer or technology experience.

I use it as a computer, since that is what it is. I print with it, I do spreadsheets and word processing documents. Email... I connect to VNC and Terminal Services. I can play quake2 multiplayer and mame roms with a joystick. I can access media on DVD/CDROM's. I can use Maemo Mapper, to find directions using bluetooth to my cell phone, and t-mobile 5.99 a month plan, also get web. I also use Maemo Mapper to view satellite maps of areas when I am out on the trails. Well the camera is not great, or even good, I can video call my wife which is awesome even with a crappy picture. I play music (MP3) and Movies/TV shows. Did I mention it runs KDE?

I can't wait to see what the next generation will bring...

I would like to thank Fanoush, Pipeline, Gnuite and many other developers for all the awesome software. As well as Nokia and the whole Maemo team!!!

The tablet is like everything else in life, its what you make of it.
