Sounds good Rob. Understand that I added the Wishlist in a very general and community-spirit sense, not that I was trying to inflict a burden on you specifically.

lol oh don't worry I didn't think that was just for me... but if I can help out on this one, then somewhere else at some point in the community spirit perhaps somebody can come along to build the nice control gui for it ;-)

Arg, lost the Trendnet bid by a penny!!!

So if anyone has a Trendnet usb ethernet device, please test and add details to the wiki, thanks.

wiki updated to included Netgear EA101 USB Ethernet. That's 5 devices now!

At least, if it's any different than the one that I put on the list. <grin>

Should we give approximate dollar values rather than the vague costs? I don't know that my "cheap" is necessarily the same as yours.

oops, you're right SKarp-- they're probably the same device.

And I just gave vague costs because I found a range of prices and wanted to make them simple and relative... but if anyone wants to edit them to include actual discovered ranges, hey, they're welcome to it.

BTW, do I have to make any changes to /etc/dnsmasq.conf and /etc/network/interfaces? I connected ethernet cable from my IT to wireless router which is connected to the internet via DSL modem but I can't surf internet, I can't either ping or resolve any ip address via nslookup only pinging to locahost works..

I didn't have to make those any such. Is your router running DHCP?

OK, is the adapter one of the ones known to work?

If it is, but it's not an RTL8150-based adapter, did you manually run usbEthUp.sh ?

For that matter, are you using a USB adapter to put the tablet in USB Host mode, or software to set the mode manually?

Also, what do you see if you run ifconfig?
