If the rubybox issue is only about ruby-hildon bindings, why not just yank or code around all the hildon window dressing for now. And when qwerty12 has time, he'll port the ruby-hildon and the ruby-hildondesktop bindings.

AFAICT almost all ruby packages found there also exist in Lenny so they could be repackaged right now if anyone cares enough to do it. The exceptions are the maemo-specific bindings (libconic-ruby, libhildon1-ruby & libosso-ruby) and it might be worthwhle pinging the original author for the source. Then again these libs are about to become obsolete and new ones would be needed for Fremantle/Mer anyway...

Really nice find qwerty, looks like there is almost everything needed for RubyBox except for conic. I sent a message to the author about a possibility of more bindings and if he could find the time to put them into maemo extras. This would be a nice addition for Maemo, I found it pretty easy to develop without proper docs thanks to pretty good gtk2 docs for ruby-gnome2.
