After I had downloaded US maps, N900 couldn't even load the maps . I couldn't see some streets around me.

FYI, I had problems (map loader wanted me to open ovi maps for the first time all the time...) but just downloading the latest version of map loader solved them

Do you have Map Loader 3.0.28.0? And can you see the N900's filesystem as a drive in Windows?

mmm doesn't work anymore already... when I connect in mass storage it tells me to connect in PC suite mode and when I connect in PC suite mode it tells me to run Ovi Maps for the first time

It took a few tries to work on mine. Make sure you're connecting in mass storage modes, and that the virtual drive(s) are showing up in explorer (one for MyDocs and one for the memory card). Also make sure you have at least version 3.0.28.0 of the map loader.

this changes nothing for me, i still get waiting for phone, tried every possible combination of connecting and all the suggestions in this thread and many others, nokia map loader just dont work with my n900 on vista32, but it does with my n97, ive actually got all the map data on my n900 just copied the cities folder from n97 to n900, but id rather maploader did it, as the maps app keeps giving me 'cant download data' warnings, when it dont need to download any data, cos the map is already displayed on my screen?
and ive got no voice directions, ill dump it for sygic when that is ready for release, due to the nightmare ive had with n900/maploader
