An updated version of QSpot (0.0.3-5) should now be available from extras-devel and garage. The previous release fixed a bug, which in turn revealed another issue that this release should fix (i.e., problem with crashes during automatic track change). So this is yet another bug-fix release. I am now working on the Settings part of QSpot, and hopefully the next release will introduce options related to buffering and search parameters...

QSpot seems to be progressing so nicely that I probably have to upgrade my Spotify account to premium just so that I can test how well it works on my N900

I am happy to hear that the updated version seems to have solved that particular crashing issue.. There are still stability problems with the underlying openspotify library, so I will need to try to look into them next. Thank you all for your feedback!

Thanks, works nice here! QSpot is running here a few hours a day.

I could really love a shuffle function, since i have some pretty big playlists which i would like to shuffle through.

Could that be implemented?

I am happy to hear that QSpot works well for you! I have indeed been planning to add shuffle functionality, and I expect that it will be implemented in one of the next releases.. Thanks for your feedback!

Excellent implementation, thanks very much.

Could I ask if the higher bitrate is being retrieved for playback?

Thank you very much for your feedback, happy to hear that you like QSpot!: Currently only the default 160k bitrate is being retrieved, but I am planning to add support the the higher 320k bitrate (and possible also for lower 96k)..

Yes, i understand. Don't think i don't appreciate your work.

I have just noticed big drainage in battery when using QSpot.

Sometimes fechting playlists take around a minute to get. 100mbit wlan connection.

Playback seems stable now!

Playback does not get paused when i start using my account somewhere else, only a notice about it

I really appreciate that you report all experienced problems with QSpot, as a lot of them might go undetected despite testing. The cpu usage in QSpot is not yet optimized, but I aim to improve it in forthcoming versions. Fetching playlists can take some time, but in my own use they usually load quite fast, even using a slow 3g connection. Do you have a lot of large playlists? When I have experienced problems with QSpot taking a lot of time loading the playlists, I have also experienced similar problems when testing other clients.

I am glad to hear that playback works better now..

QSpot currently only notifies when your account is used somewhere else, but this could also be improved on.

Again, thank you very much for your feedback!
