Hi all,

I want to say this application work really nice.

Also, I think I have find a little bug :

- I connect to a host like 'host.domain.dom' -> Ok
- I disconnect from this host, and then in the menu I select 'connect' -> Ok
- By default the field is auto filed with latest host ('host.domain.dom') -> Ok
- Now I want to connect to 'hosttest.domain.dom', so I move the cursor to the desired place and add 'test' -> Nok !!!
- For every character I type, the cursor goes to the end of the field.

Here is an example (the '|' represent the cursor position) :

I go to 'host|.domain.dom' and I enter the letter t, then the cursor go to the end of the field like that 'hostt.domain.dom|'

It act like this for every character I type ...

And finally let me add a feature request :

- Can you add an option to listen for a connection on port 5900 ?

Hope it help, and keep up the good work !!!

A++

PS : Where is hosted the source code of this project ?

@AlMehdi: Great idea, thanks!

@colin.stephane:
Sorry for that, just commited a fix.
You can find the git repository at
https://garage.maemo.org/scm/?group_id=1831,
or a source tarball of the current release here:
https://garage.maemo.org/projects/presencevnc/

I wasn't sure if anybody used listening connections, but the library seems to support them. I'll look into that.

Hehehe

Concerning the listening mode you can have a look at :

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ght=vnc+listen

At least someone else asking for the same functionality ...
This mode is very cool when you have lame users, doesn't know where to find there IP.

You just ask them to right click on the vnc icon in the systray and choose the 'Add new client' option, and you just have to give them your IP.

PS : Actually building your fix, many thanks ...

Report :

bigbob@bigbob-laptop:~$ ssh root@192.168.28.7
root@192.168.28.7's password:
Nokia-N900:~# cd /home/user/MyDocs/tmp/
Nokia-N900:/home/user/MyDocs/tmp# dpkg -i presencevnc_0.6_armel.deb
(Reading database ... 34199 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace presencevnc 0.5 (using presencevnc_0.6_armel.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement presencevnc ...
Setting up presencevnc (0.6) ...

And the fix work like expected.

Hi,

I see you push some code to allow listening mode in git

If you want to have a real idea of all this stuff, I think you must show remmina at http://remmina.sourceforge.net/.

For me it's actually the best client under linux ...

Maybe you can have a look (better, port it to maemo) ...

A++

Love the update; I particularly like the zoom slider, it would be nice if it would zoom back in on the mouse position and not the centre of the view port, nit picking sorry.

Not had liquid_chaos’s freezing and I am running a full colour 5120x1600 display quality High (LAN).

I cannot get a TightVNC v1.3 server running on XP SP3 to connect to Presence VNC. TightVNC complains after 2 seconds that it failed, it also fails even when already connected with a VNC connection made from the phone to the same PC.

Thanks for continuing the hardwork on this project, because for me it has been invaluable more than once.

Sounds odd, maybe the server or your router closes the connection after a few minutes? If you start 'presencevnc' from X terminal you should get something like "VNC server closed connection" in that case.

Can you run presencevnc from the command line to see if the connection attempt comes through? I've successfully tested the feature with TightVNC 2.0.2 and 1.3 on XP (and x11vnc).
