When i want better quality i use double pass encoding ad 512/128 or 640/128-192.
Lower frame rates->higher quality, however, reducing the frame rate may affect the smoothness of the playback.
But, if you change frame rate, you can have video and audio out of sync.
If you have sync problems, my suggestion is to not change frame rate (leave the box unchecked) and use mplayer instead of built in media player.
Two pass encoding give you a more efficient encode when comparing to one pass but it usually takes at least double the time as the one pass.

Does it convert DVD movies? If so, what would be the settings for a movie with subtitles?
Thanks

Thanks to you for testing my software :-)
I am working on the next version (will be ready saturday or sunday, or at the beginning of the next week, i have make some tests).
I have added some new features in the crop section (fit width, height, no crop, and free crop: left, right, top and bottom) and to the size section (400x240, 400x224, original size and custom size), and some improvements in the podcasts section.

Is "custom size" really a good idea, given the known limitations of video playback on the IT?
