The d is a convention in the UNIX world for naming daemon binaries (it does look quite odd though when the programs name ends with a d already). You don't have to be root (and shouldn't as it uses a different calendar database otherwise).

Does hitting refresh remove the entries and then readd them after 1-2 seconds?

This was actually done on purpose to not flood the event feed with a lot of events making the actual calendar events invisble. I will think about how to add it.

those disapperas TWO times.. why TWO? why not only one time? it this bug or something? and TO DO without destination date doesnt show up.. please add this.. thanks a lot!
The public API functions provided by the OS do not allow selectively adding and removing events from the feed. They only allow clearing and then readding the events.

The refresh button triggers the readding of events and therefore clears it.

The feed detects that new entries are added to the calendar by another API and refreshes itself afterwards. This callback by the API does not happen instantly but takes 3-5 seconds so it takes a while for that to happen.

So if you refresh and then the calendar changed event comes in it will clear it twice or did you mean something else?

Use MeeBirthdays app and create new events for the birthdays of your contacts in your normal calendar!
Or maybe you didn't indicate your birthday calendar (and only the default one is active)

I mentioned this in my previous post, but no, this doesn't happen. It did in previous versions, so I know what you mean.
good luck!

And the events that are shown, are they also in the personal calendor or an online synced calender? In case you use different calenders, you should check settings and see if they are all activited to push events on home screen

Do regular all-day events also show up fine? Is the nearest birthday within the look-ahead range and what expiry mode (on event end or event start) have you set it to?

I've fixed MeeBirthdays - so events with All-Day option will correctly appear in Organizer Feed.

2 chillipAlso I've added option to show age in "Comment" - that is the only field where I can write additional information through the QOrganizer API. With this option there will be written birth Year - so You can extract it and calc actual Age to show in Feed.

p.s. New version can be obtained from my page

Ok, great I will include something in the next version. Out of curiosity why weren't they shown before?
