Bill: "Hi, my name's Bill. I work in strategy. What's your name? I haven't seen you before."

Ben: "My name's Ben. I work in marketing. What's the latest news on this Meltemi thing?"

Bill: "It's a Linux OS for low end devices. It's just a minor thing. It was only supposed to be on a million phones, but some clown misheard and the slogan became 'the next billion'. Ballmer hit the fvckin' roof. Chairs flying everywhere. He doesn't like all this talk of a billion phones running Linux, even the heavily gimped, locked-down type."

Ben: "It's going to be tough selling a billion of anything, given that we've been screwing our customers for the last few years. I think the N9 will be a hit, though."

Bill: "Nah. We've only produced 92,000 of the things. The boss is making sure that it will be buried. We've got some WP devices that will be announced soon. That should do it."

Ben: "I see. What about this Tizen thingy? Do you see that as being a threat to WP?"

Bill: "We're pretty sure that it will fail, although with Samsung involved, there is a slight chance of success. Had we been on the inside, we could have been certain of failure. Now we'll just have to rely on Intel and The Linux Foundation to fvck it up."

Ben: "That might not be enough to guarantee the success of WP though. Sales haven't been to great."

Bill: "Ballmer's going to see to that one. He's meeting the execs from the big carriers later. In the conference room, there's at least 50 chairs, but there are only 15 people attending. I heard Ballmer insisted on extra chairs. No idea what he wants with them."

Bill: "Hey! What's that under your shirt? Are you wearing a wire. Motherfvcker!"

*gunshot*
Verbatim! Tell your friend he's very clever.
Actually, you can make out a lot of it from about 430min onwards.
Some interesting stuff, nothing we haven't already heard though I think.

I expect to pay about BRL1600,00 on a 16gb model here. It seems no 64gb will make it here, so 16gb will be the only option.

1 BRL = 19,43BAHT
1 BRL = 0,38 EURO
1 BRL = 0,58 USD
I do not understand your post because you have just quoted much more for a 16gb in your country than you will pay in Asia, what taxes are you reffering too?, the prices i gave are including vat and all you pay on top of that is delivery AND import duty if it is applicable.

Is this yours?

Photos are pretty good, but light is very good, so I can't comment on the quality of sensor and lens.

Could you take some indoor shots of some highly detailed objects in low light?

With and without flash? Nokia said this LED flash was 25% better than any other on the market, wich still makes it about 60% weaker than Xenon. (N8's Xenon works up to about 3 metres away, most LED flashes (n900) work up to 1 metre. 25% more power = 1,25 meter away, or about 41% of the n8 capabilities).

I want to know before I commit to a purchase.

It's never going to be as good as the N8 in some areas, Damien Dinning made that clear
http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/...ia-n9-imaging/
But it'll be as good or very close in many typical uses, for most people.

Yep, import taxes are that high. And I have to pay on top of shipping, too. Shipping is taxed by the same amount as the product.

OUCH my heart goes out to you.

Is there any chance you can get together a few mates that want the N9 and one of you fly over to Thailand as you will be able to avoid these taxes for sure.

That, and I am not sure, but ICMS of 21% may apply too, and I don't want to discover that.

Not really. You can only bring 1 cell phone, 1 notebook, 1 tablet, 1 camera from abroad. Else you have to declare it when you leave the country, or bring the buying receipt for each item from Brazil. Else you have to pay taxes even if the product is used.
