Yes i think the only way we will see flash 10.1 is if meego gets ported to
the N900. According to the link below, there is another meego release for handsets coming out on june 30th.

I don't think HTC has made any announcement. Some HTC devices haven't even received 2.1 yet.
HTC Desire, EVO 4G, and one more... were explicitly stated to get Froyo and FP 10.1 already, more are slated but not 100% confirmed in regards to Flash Player 10.1, but for Froyo.

And once I saw that Adobe stated "MeeGo"... I knew Maemo was skipped.

7 months after release, it's obsolete. That's a new record for Nokia.

So now who has got a contact person at Nokia so I can forward Kevin's email and ask for a straight forward answer, if they can give one that is!

Expecting Nokia to answer is simply futile. They'll present the FP 10.1 for whatever device will get it, deliver that and answer nothing. That non-answer/silence is your answer.

And since it's in production now (FP 10.1 for mobile devices) and Nokia hasn't decided to ride the crest of the press releases by Adobe to state explicitly that it is, or is not coming to the Maemo 5 platform is indicative of what will happen.

Absolutely nothing. If they have planned to do something, the time to announce it is now because it is a known item/deal and there are no more NDA's in the way. Released software is usually spoken about.

Contact Nokia all you wish. You will not receive a yes/no answer. There are no announcements yet, so curb the hope that it'll come to the Nokia N900 from Nokia, hope that some enterprising folks find a way to "square peg, round hole" shove it onto your N900 from the MeeGo device.

And even that logic is flawed, if not... delayed. FP 10.1 has to be released (it has) and also a MeeGo device has to be released (it hasn't). So now the second condition has to be met.

More waiting. I'll take my time and business elsewhere if I were impatient or tired of Nokia's silence.

Nokia seems to be busy since has been attacked from so many sides. Unfortunately they acting like "WTF is going on around " missing the key features that could push their ideas forward. And I'm not event talking about Flash here. There is more basic stuff missing like PR.

I am flash developer but I have to say I'm disappointed a bit with Flash 10.1 progress. All was clear for me 8 months ago. Each Open Screen partner had equal chance to put his effort from 2 years. Adobe end up in situation they have to rely on partners effort. Looks like only one did his job. But internal agreement was to do not make a favorite anybody on the market by access to the technology. I don't know what happened in meantime. But looks like Adobe on the rush delivered some stable version that doing more mess as it could staying with old one a bit longer.

For example?
For PC what kind of benefit do you have? Nothing, no GPU at all and that was clear from beginning. However. because of dynamic streaming you end up with old PC with good broadband. Flash allows you to stream better quality content than your PC is capable and there is no way to turn this off. This feature will force you to change even outdated PC if you have one.

I'm just getting sick of all this s**it around.

What's to be upset about?

You're a Flash dev, right? To use Flash, that means you're using a Mac or Windows... right?

It's nice to have it on your phone too - I know, I'm a Flex/Flash dev - but ultimately it was never promised. Just shown once.

Now, instead of anger just make sure you don't repeat this mistake and buy a platform that assists your career decisions.

Thumbs Up.

I just can't break my mind to believe looking at device holding in my hand that all this happened because of economy decisions.

and to see that Nokia initially marketed the N900 as having full featured web experience then dumb it down later to no longer state this and only mention it has Adobe Flash 9.4 support...

So as flash-based websites continue to update to Flash 10.1 and lock out earlier Flash clients and with no Flash 10.1 update to our N900's in sight, our N900's become, from a web experience point of view, an iPhone...

You exaggerate plenty. When the n900 came out, it had full featured flash. There are a lot of sites that haven't even upgraded to 10.1. The n900 is miles ahead of the iPhone when it comes to flash support.

I understand you are frustrated but if you are going to whine, do it accurately.
