They wait for the sites/content producers to make a html5 frontend or an app for the content.

I understand you are frustrated but if you are going to whine, do it accurately.
Had, as you state, is correct as I previously stated. But you are right a lot of sites have not upgraded to 10.1, but some if not most will eventually, and most definitely the N900 does not even compare to the iPhone with regards to its current Flash support. I love my N900 and wouldn't trade it for anything else out there. Am I frustrated that there is no official word from Nokia on Flash 10.1 support for the N900, sure. Am I whining, not at all.

then i'm hoping for 2 things
1) iphone is quite a force to reckon with right now and site owners wouldn't want to alienate such a huge market - so they will product html5 content
2) firefox for mobile will have some form of html5 support in the future.

I think point #1 will still go on for at least another year or so due to iPhone 4 and iPad, but by next summer Android is likely to outpace the iDevices for good.

For sites with free content, they're likely to adopt html5 than mess with mobile apps.

So we finally know that it has been released to Nokia and the holdup lies there and not at Adobe.
We've known that all along. Adobe support has repeatedly and consistently told us to talk to Nokia and it's out of their control.

The only way the N900 will get 10.1 is through a community released Meego OS if at all.
I agree.

AFAIK to the people who see MeeGo in the press release and get excited, just saying "MeeGo" does not necessarily mean "Nokia MeeGo Phone" and certainly does not imply "existing Maemo5 N900". Not that it couldn't, but that it doesn't necessarily.

When we see a mention of "MeeGo" we don't know if they mean the intel-based MeeGo, ARM-based MeeGo, desktop, netbook, table, handset, MeeGo in a car GPS system, etc.

Problem with so many versions of MeeGo is we never know what they are talking about. My guess is they aren't talking about anything in particular and just listing every partner's name to emphasize the fact that "everyone in the world except for Apple supports us".

the original demo of 10.1 was conducted on, amongst other devices, an N900.
It was the first Device that Adobe pulled out as an example.
At some point, a working version has already been developed to run on the N900 for the public demonstration that was given MONTHS ago.
Since Adobe is quite happy to release beta software, it's a bit rich to turn around and say "you need to follow up 10.1 with Nokia".

Making the (large) assumption that the demo N900 had a full working version of 10.1 (why would you risk a crash on a public display?), how hard would it be for Adobe to allow this version to be downloaded from it's existing sites?

...where "out of our control" can also mean "we don’t give a s**t, talk to your vendor, maybe he will take pity on you". It wasn’t out of their control to publish installs for Android (or X86 linux for that matter) on their own site. Nokia is just convenient to point fingers to as they usually do not respond, guilty or not. Plus, as said, what do you expect them to say ? Adobe sucks, they gave us half-finished crap and want us to do their job - and then just turn to Adobe and say - hey Adobe, sorry about the scene, are we still cool for the Symbian thing ? Lots of backroom things going on here, undoubtedly.

And while Nokia might be needed to do some browser/Maemo specific patches, it most certainly does not block Adobe to release a plain ARM Linux version on their site (even if MicroB is so "special" the generic NPAPI plugin could be used EASILY by 3rd party browsers like Fennec, Tear or projects like FlashLauncher).
