Damn dude - take a pill.

If it is delayed again, I may well adopt a wait and see attitude but not because "whaaa I want my toy", rather delays hint at a larger issue and I would want to see how that shakes out.

From what I'm seeing, the only straight company that didn't give faulty dates so far, is Amazon.com:

"Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. You can cancel at any time."

and that gives me a good feeling about them, that as soon as they give a date it would be exact, because at least they admit that they know how big of a mess Nokia is making, and don't wanna give its customers random dates.

The larger issue may be that Nokia has some problems with their cheaper software engineers in Asia?

Does the price usually go up after the release date? Or go down during the holidays? or something else?..LOL. I've wondered about this before.

What does it take. Come out and give a statement on the status of the device.
The date is 15th November, for now. If it doesn't ship this week from the factory, then it is later this month.

From the Peter's comments it is apparent that Nokia makes the final decision to release or not to release only a few days before the planned date for the factory to ship the devices.

What's the lead time from shipping from the factory to distributor stocking? 1 week? If so, possibly at least 10 days out from when Nokia says "GO" for release? So yeah, Nokia has to make a decision to release by Mid-November if we want to have the phones in our hands this month?

I think hat's true. Also the N97 was slated end of June and shipped mid june, early as it were. So anything is possible. The next thing you will here from Nokia is most likely one of two announcements.

1) Released
2) Further delays.

Between now and the end of Nov, expect option #1.
Starting Dec, expect Option #2

I don't believe they'll "pre-announce" the release date from what it is now, that wouldn't make sense. All minus, and no plus.

I wish we had someone inside NewEgg's warehouse

My understanding is that Nokia made the famous delay decision that pushed release to November on the 21/22th October. That leaves little over one week for shipping, and distributors and shops to get ready.
