Hehe, don't worry, Scuds *are* much fatter than regular ones. That's probably part of key to their very high capacity.

those scud batteries don't need any physical modification right?

They can be plugged into the n900 out of the box right?

The capacity meter defaults to 2048 on reset (think removing battery for a long time). 2048 to 1700 is one learning cycle of max 1/6th step change. From 1700 a 1/6th change downwards would be 1400.

So, for "normal" capacity battery you'll need 3-5 learning cycles.

One of my original Nokia BL-5J batteries is now at 1000-1100 mAh capacity. It had a tough life though, sat a few months in my switched off spare N900, and slowly drained to empty (2.5...2.8V or something)..

After second calibration it says 1583, only a difference of 2 from the last time. I'll continue to monitor it.

I can prepare and sell some soldered dual scuds, for people here that *really* aren't cut for soldering. ho ever, it involves buying batteries shipped to me, additional cost for work, + cost of shipping to final address, with at least work cost payed in advance (if I'm one buying batteries, also this must be payed in advance). Yea, like with mercenaries (and yes, I've played Jagged Alliance 2 on N900 :P ). So, I'm not sure if anyone will be interested.

By the way, same apply for camera lens cover mod. Cause no one is donating (I'm not surprised, and it's *not* sarcasm), selling assembled dual batteries or modded mugen cover may be nice way of rising "donations" for "true hotswap" mod

Estel I would be happy to purchase one as long as it works fine. i used to solder but recently my hands havent been still enough. I would be glad to pay 75 percent first. up front and then pay the last 25 when i receive the product.
