Hi everyone,
I would like to volunteer to be a category moderator, considering that I've been putting in quite a lot of thread flags to request for moderators to move them around as needed -- and I realise this is not the intended use of the "Flag This" feature.
Quick question, up to what point is it possible to filter out the rights of a moderator?

Is that in the wrong order? I mean, bit of a waste of time after you've already killed 'em...
I'm with Texrat on this one. There's something about the degree of rabble rousing froma few certain individuals that suggest they're not here to be useful contributing members. I'm not talking about people who make constructive criticisms or who dare to believe that n900 is less than God's best gift since Christmas, but a few people who seem to delight in rabble rousing.
Mind, it might help if the rabble weren't quite so willing to be roused...

I suggest taking a look at many of the posts that CrashandDie have made here - they are often both angry and demeaning. Not something I think a moderator should express.

I know my writing style isn't the most gentle to say the least, however I am never truly angry. Yes, I can be rough, but it is not because I am to the point that I am therefore humiliating anyone; at least that's never my intention.
This being said, should you want to argue your point with a few examples in a private message, I'd love to see things through your eyes. Going through my messages quickly I had to go to the 3rd or 4th page of messages to start seeing some that are a bit rough.

Just a minor rant about moderation...
As expected, we have had a huge influx of noisy members recently. That is not meant to broadly slam anyone and in fact I'm gonna get real specific.
Out of that number we have a handful who *appear* to have an agenda here that even transcends constructive criticism. Personally I don't care if they're paid shills, diehard Nokia haters or just sociopathic forum joyriders but I have a big problem with letting a tiny, screaming, effusive minority damage the otherwise beautiful tenor of this forum.
To that end, I wish for a slight change to moderation, ie, that a pattern of bad behavior means as much as if not more than certain obvious violations.
I really believe that handling these few toxic human singularities will go a long way toward minimizing noise and restoring decorum to the forum. I'm disappointed they have been allowed to persist with no obvious repercussions despite flagrant poisoning of the place...

Here's a thought... can we make a probationary period on new accounts creating a new thread? If someone couldn't sign up and make a thread the same minute, it would probably filter out some of the trolls and noise.
