There is a USA version >.> unless it's a firmware thing that controls how many channels are available for a wifi device (e.g. USA it's 1-11 while Europe it's 1-13).

the difference between the channels is 5 Mhz, that's not a range that's likely to be limited by hardware. would make no sense to produce chips which cut off at such a specific frequency...
