Please do.

Personally I'd rather wait for the bugs to be worked out of the update and wait a few extra week rather than add a whole new handfull of bugs to the mix.

I bought mine at $530 before rebate, and I'm quite happy with it so far (at least, now that I have one that doesn't reboot randomly).

Course, some of us didn't have a phone who did any of the above before this, so there is a lot I'm currently not missing. While I'd like to see a firmware update at some point, what I have is very workable for me. What I really want are more applications rather than a new firmware.

There are still 3 days remaining before 2009 ends.

Please submit your vote over the brainstorm section so that bugfixes to individual apps should be commited as soon as possible (eg. not waiting for a full release to fix the imap issue) and this way you can help achieving faster updates an intelligent way. I do hope Nokia considers this, as there is no point in waiting for weeks to fix those simple but annoying bugs.

The only thing I really wish for in the firmware update is some improvement with my reception. It seems the N900 radio is worse than that of my G1 and my battery is suffering because of it.
Agreed! Unless I have been unlucky with two N900's and the same radio issue, 2G reception in low signal areas is weaker than my G1. Fantastic that others are happy with the radio, but two N900's yielded the same results for me. A radio update (if possible) would be very nice.

Personally I don't mind the one or the other. What pisses me off is the lack of reliable information.

What's so hard about a little press release or a blog post somewhere saying "People, the update is coming, we can't make our original estimate because some bug came up that will kill your device cold. We're trying to fix it, but you all know how software is, when it decides to be a pain in the rear, then it's just that. We'll keep you posted on progress. Until then hang in there..."

To write that costs 3 Minutes, and it gets rid of all the frustration and the speculation. But no, let's rather be silent, that way the competition might not get confirmation of our schedule...

I have not received my rebate yet, but the legal language in the rebate does not stipulate "deals" are null and void to the warranty.

I simply wrote the IMEI down on the form and this is another reason I did not keep the second N900 and return the first one. Well, main reason was the second one rebooted over a dozen times in the short time I was testing 2G reception. I averaged about 1.5 reboots per hour of use. No other apps were installed on it, just what came with it.
