just wanted to add that we should keep in mind that n900 is a tablet and never will be a good phone and like any portable pc it will be slow if you run too much stuff at oce and will have slow behaviour because it uses swap. i use it like a pocket pc and my frustration is less than using it like a phone. I wont sale it but i will get a nexus one to have beside it...

I disagree, this is far more then a tablet, it works perfect as a phone (People report odd problems here and there) and it runs very fast concidering what you put on it, in some cases the device is more prompt and responsive then very well optimised netbooks i use.

Lucky you. I have almost nothing but problems and almost regret selling my ipod touch when this was coming out.

ABSOLUTE JOKE IF YOU HAVE OVER 50 SONGS ON IT.

HATED THE MUSIC PLAYER SO MUCH THAT I CARRY BOTH MY IPHONE 3G AND THE N900, JUST SO I CAN USE THE IPHONE 3G AS A MEDIA PLAYER.

ARE YOU READING MAEMO TEAM? THE MUSIC PLAYER IS A JOKE!!
I have over 1,000 songs on my 900...many of them 2 hour DJ sets. For the ones not on my 900, I can stream from my PC with 2-3 clicks. No issues for me.

What's not working for you?

Luckily there is no one around here that would stoop to that.
A lesser manufacturer might actually produce said device knowing that so many people would complain about it.. and wouldn't complain if it was at least the same size as previous models.

Luckily, there are other manufacturers around that listen to their customers and compete with such manufacturers.

Can you uninstall it (free up space) to replace it with something else (better open-source player)? I can see this might be a matter of personal taste, but I'm sure that such a 'computer first' device should clearly be able to do the very things I can do in my Ubuntu distro that Maemo is supposed to be based on and allow you to run as resource efficient as possible with YOUR preference of software.

you only get a text box on calendar events - my tasks are not time related. so I need the task to display the description as it does on all Simbian vertions, palm OS, webOS, the iPhone, Anreoid, Samsung, etc.

Fair enough...is synching tasks via Outlook, et al, not an option? Or using an alternate app such as Notes or Xournal?

THE MUSIC PLAYER EXPERIENCE IS NOT THE BEST AT ALL.

I HAVE OVER 3K of music, ITS SLOW, DOES NOT SHOW MY ALBUM ART AND ITS SEEMS A LIKE A LOT OF WORK JUST TO FIND AN ALUM TO PLAY.

MAYBE I HAVE BEEN SPOILT BY THE iPHONE/iTouch MUSIC PLAYER.

COME ON NOKIA AND THE MAEMO TEAM.
PLEAS PLEASE PLEASE IMPROVE THE MUSIC PLAYER

That pulseaudio is slightly crippled (though actually based on some reports it may not be as bad as I thought).

For some its worse then others, but i suffer from no pulseaudio problems, and the whole stuttering problem people have is just so hard to track down.
