Hi to all ,
reading through all these files I believe we need a sticky
thread which only allows posts from approved members.

A link could be added to the top of each page.

This would save not having a lot of repeat posts.
Because it would give immediate answers.

Just a thought rushmam

Its now 12:18. Still no update here in the UK, and Nokia Software Updater is being a sod too. Can't get my device info.

So does using the search button save on repeat posts

I'm fairly new here as well as quite a few users, but i know how to use a search button or browse through a thread before posting a question.

PS UK 205 user and still no update

I put a brainstorm in for this a while ago - not many votes though

Please see my brainstorm here
And another brainstorm here

edit - it's not exactley what you said, but allows important news and links to be clear and visible (instead of important posts within threads)

I can live with the delay for the update.

However I'm very interested in knowing what causes it. What is so different between the other firmwares and the UK one?

If it's a UK carrier requirement thing is there anyway that those of us who forked out for a sim free N900 in order to avoid being tied to the whims of UK Networks can receive the worldwide firmware rather than the UK one? (yes I know I can download and flash manually, I mean a way where I don't have to do anything different)

Don't think it is a carrier thing as stated a few pages ago, as it affects the non carrier related version.

yes, search the wiki for flasher - you can flash to the global firmware version whenever you want. (General usual warnings apply - don't forget to backup!)

I have also a "problem" with the update.

I have a German phone, but im currently in switzerland. No update for me so far with the appmanager.

But i recently have done a apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and some offical packages got upgraded.

but the about dialog still says i have not the 3.2010.02-8 firmeware.
