I have also a "problem" with the update.
I have a German phone, but im currently in switzerland. No update for me so far with the appmanager.
But i recently have done a apt-get update and apt-get upgrade and some offical packages got upgraded.
but the about dialog still says i have not the 3.2010.02-8 firmeware.
dpkg -l 'mp-fremantle-*'

Don't think it is a carrier thing as stated a few pages ago, as it affects the non carrier related version.
yes, search the wiki for flasher - you can flash to the global firmware version whenever you want. (General usual warnings apply - don't forget to backup!)

As I said, I'm aware that I can flash manually. But that sounds like a lot of hassle when really I should be able to press a button and do it OTA.
Also once I've flashed the global firmware what then happens next firmware? Do I have to do it again or will the global firmware now appear in Application Manager?
I'm not that desperate for the firmware, I'm just interested in what the differences are that cause the delay. is this something we can expect to get better/worse as further updates come?

you know what's strange..... i had no problems with space on rootfs with my testing-device, which is full with applications from extras and devil.
on my clean, stable, extras- and ovi-only N900 i couldn't install the update first because rootfs was full.
so much for "stay out of -devil"
