I finally got around to installing TVersity on my Vista PC. I have Canola and Media Streamer installed on my n800. But neither pick up the TVersity server, nor the UNnP built-in server that I tried prior to TVersity.

I am a bit stuck, any help would be appreciated. I think a useful first step would be to run a port test from the n800. But I have no idea how!

Can you connect to TVersity via the browser?

http://the.IP.of.computer:41952/lib

where th.IP.of.computer is the IP address of the computer with TVersity running on it. Probably something like: 192.168.xxx.xxx - depending on your router and how you have it set up. Other than that I have no suggestions - TVersity just works for me. I am impressed at how nice streaming videos look actually. I have a few complaints - like - when I pause if I wait too long it will only play a little more, then stops, and you can only play - no fast forward/rewind.

good luck.

btw - have you checked out:

If you have a router, you may have to open the TVersity port. If you search on the TVersity site, I believe you'll find information about it. I'd take a shot at explaining it; but, because every router is slightly different, I'd probably just add confusion to an already confusing process.

That's strange though as the http link above uses that port, doesn't it?

Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread, but a common fix for Tversity not being detected is to get up the search window on your client device, then restart the Tversity service on your PC. It should then appear.

This also works for the Xbox 360.

Still trying to get the actual media to play on Canola, although I can browse the media directories just fine.
