Anyone know of a functional Hex Editor that'll work on the N800 ?
Maybe like gHex or xxd, text based or GUI is fine.
Or is there a way with the installed version of 'vi' ?

Don't see anything. But I would think that it would be possible to port bvi without too much trouble. A GUI binary editor might be a bit more work.

Is there a reason you can't just copy the file to a desktop machine and edit it there?

OK, I did a quick recompile of bvi. I created a deb (easier to install). You can find it at:
http://www.makikiweb.com/n800/downlo....3.2.armel.deb

It works on my n800, you may need to install 'screen' which installs many terminfo files, including the one for xterm.
