Application manager no longer works. The program starts, but only displays a white screen. My sources.list file seems OK, an apt-get update from the command line works.

Thanks for any help!

Interesting. I am just getting that same error now.

I tried to install something from Maemo.org and when app manager started, it only gives me a blank screen.

After power cycling, it still gives me the same blank screen.

Did you get "Operation failed" when updating? If so, I noticed the Khertan repository is down, and causing that error on mine. Disabling Khertan soved the problem.

No. I got no error. Just an empty Application Manager.

The Application Manager refuses to respond to any input. I can't close it and I can't access the menu to disable any repositories.

I've tried several things.

I've logged in as root and did an "apt-get update" and everything updated fine (there were some GPG errors, but according to a message here that wasn't really a problem). No change.

The only recent change was virtual memory. So I disabled that. Nothing.

I've removed all SD cards and the battery. Waited. Put just the battery back in and started it back up. Nothing.

Everything else seems to work just fine.

I too am getting the blank App Manager problem on my N800.

It just started this morning.

apt-get still works fine. I removed all apps that I had installed yesterday, just in case, but App Mgr still doesn't respond. Blank screen only. I thought it might have something to do with my recent attempts to get SMB shares working, but I don't think so anymore.

If I try to close it, I eventually get the message, "Application Manager is not responding. Do you want to close it?"

I sometimes get that message, but usually I have to drop to a shell and kill the process.

I verified that apt-get is working. I manually added a repository and manually installed an application. No problems at all. Application installed just fine.

So the problem is definitely with Application Manager.

As yet, no solution here. Anyone know what the program in /usr/bin Application Manager runs? If it could be started from the command-line perhaps some error messages might lend a clue.

/usr/bin/osso-application-installer

but there don't seem to be any messages, only the same behavior.
