Can you make gold from lead? Answer to both questions is the same :-)

770 has USB 1.1 speed so maximum in theory is 12MBits/s. If this speed is enough for your needs and there is a driver in 2.6.16 linux kernel for your device you can have it (i.e. webcam or whatever) running.

Not quite... But you need a powered USB hub and the "USB Host mode" hack for the 770. Then connect them both to the hub.

for connecting just one device to 770 you need
- 5v power source
- Y cable (sold with 2.5" usb disk enclosures)
- usb female to female adapter

of course you may just hack your own cable and power source

When looking at the picture second time, it looks like normal USB on all three ends, this is not correct, miniUSB is needed for 770 side. This is first time I see normal USB on 2.5" enclosure. Better get another one like this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.669, they also have adapters to miniUSB but that would need another female to female and would look ugly.

As for the high speed kernel - search this forum for answers.
