I've synced and find that the address book syncs, but the date book doesn't. I get the following message:

-- Date Book
- Some PC records were not copied to the handheld. Your handheld may be full. To correct this situation, delete some records and perform a HotSync operation again.
Desktop = 2, Handheld = 0
Date Book synchronization failed

I don't have hardly anything installed on my n800, so I can't imagine that it's full already. Any other ideas what could be causing this to fail?

thanks,

Are you trying to synch from an existing PalmDesktop, which you maybe used with a Palm 5 device? Then the records problem could possibly be because the DateBook is the old, simpler version of the calendar and not the extended Calendar version which Palm/PalmOne used to ship (and which Access doesn't have, er, access to).

No, I just downloaded the desktop and added a couple of appointments. It gives me that error message when I try to sync.

I also wasn't sure what version of the desktop to download since I wasn't using a handheld device. The Nokia tablets weren't listed as an option. I just put the T|X, but not sure if that made a difference.

Just bluetooth them from the palm to the N800, and save them to file (they will end up as .pdb files). Then install them with the install button in GVM. Worked a treat for my databases where I had previously also moved over the actual application (.prc files). (Well, the sequence doesn't matter - copy over the .prc and .pdb files in any order.)

Ok, I've deleted and reinstalled the desktop. Still doesn't sync the date book. Everything else syncs just fine. Is anybody having success syncing the date book?

Check if the desktop hotsync calendar conduit can be configured to old datebook format.

What is "old datebook format"? I'm looking in preferences and so on and don't see any way to change to an older format.

I am able to HotSync the N800 with DateBk6 installed with my desktop with Outlook with no problems at all.

I can not however get the N800 to do exactly the same thing with my laptop. As far as I can see the only difference between the two is the IP address.

To date I've synced DateBk6, Secret!, RoboForm, my addresses (PhoneMagic won't run on the N800), Notes/Memos (Outlook), but can't get HandyShopper to sync.

The GVM handles the text input area real well so you can work with the keyboard and a square screen or the full screen without the keyboard.

Not even going to bother trying "Fitaly" (the BEST text input method on the Palm).
