When I first got my N800 just a few short weeks ago I immediately noticed there are many "osso-" apps and libraries. I still haven't figured out what it stands for. Open Software something something? What does it mean?

Thanks.

After my previous searches failed to provide a definitive answer, I decided to try just one more time. And now I'm ready to answer my own question.

OSSO means "Open Source Software Operations". It's a department inside Nokia.

I am sure I came upon a web page detailing their development of OSSO and was checking up on it. It seems they started some of the Osso operation on 2005

Edit: here it is http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT7621761066.html
