Hi everyone,

I cannot describe when exactly but once in a while the N800 gets pretty warm. Not hot but warm. Should I be alarmed about that ?
Mostly happens while browsing the internet for a while.

Thanks,

Phil.

Does it run hotter with OS2008?

I think the answer is yes, potentially. In OS2008 the CPU can be run at 400 MHz instead of being capped at the 320 MHz limit in OS2007. It should only run at the higher speed for processor-intensive tasks, and then drop back down in speed (potentially lower than 320 MHz) when it is relatively idle.

So if you are running something that operates the CPU at 400 MHz for long periods, the tablet could feel warmer than it did under OS2007.

Still nothing to worry about unless it gets uncomfortably warm to the touch.

Anecdotally, my experience jives with what Technut said.

Totally cool body with 2007. With 2008, sometimes would get warm (almost hot) under the battery bulge of the n800. Never hot, like some mac laptops I know, but warm. Downgraded back to 2007 and it never got hot again.

I haven't grabbed the 2008 beta, so I can't say whether I would have the same issue. But to repeat, it was warm (like would be nice in your hands outside on a cold day) never actually hot.

With winter coming on, maybe this is a 'feature'
