I just purchased a N800 from Buy.com, and the 30 minites that it worked... it showed promise... but back to Buy.com it went fore it would not start up again.
So... while I am waiting for the replacement I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction for the following.
1) Ripping cd music onto a SD disc?
...can I rip it to a sd disc, or do I have to go through the N800 unit with its software?
2) Ripping DVD on to a SD disc?
... what is the best format to watch on the N800... what software have you been using?

Any direction would be appreciated.

Music is easy with iTunes or Windows Media Player or WinAmp or a plethora of Linux apps... Just rip the songs, plug your IT into you computer (or put the SD card in your card reader) and copy the songs over.

Video is similarly simple, but requires a few more steps:

For video see the Wiki:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/wi...kia_770_format
The 770 handles the same video formats the N800 and N810. I think I'll update the wiki to reflect this.

For your power on/off issue (should it happen again) check this thread.

Is there an easy way to convert DVDs directly to a NIT compatible format?

I've used the 'fairuse wizard 2 lite edition' which is free to download at:

http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en...t_edition.html.

All you need to do is specify the approximate file size and resolution (I use 400x240) and it generates a file direct from the DVD.

If you have a video in a certain format already, you can use the official (but in beta) Nokia Internet Tablet Video Converter:
