At first a big Hello to all the n770-enthusiasts out there!
After being a passive user of this forum since November, here´s my first post! You´re all doing great work!

This morning I read a short article about Nordnav on ZDNet Germany.
Right now theres no english equivalent, so here´s a short translation:

With their E5000 Mobile Solution, swedish company Nordnav is presenting an embedded-software-receiver for gps. With this solution nordav makes it possible to integrate gps functionality in any pda or mobile.

E5000 Mobile Solution is integrable as an embedded solution in many mobile processors and platforms like ARM9, TI OMAP and Intel xscale.

Because of using existing processing-power this product provides:

- using less space
- using less energy
- shorter logon times

Nordav is presenting this product on different platforms, including Nokia 770 Internet Tablet and the TI OMAP at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona.

...so hopefully we´re getting a customer friendly gps solution for our lovely gadget!

the german news article: click!

the company´s website in english: click!

greetings

Ulf

PS:Excuse me for my improvable language skills.

So most of the gps processing will be done by the 770, but it still needs some kind of hardware to receive the signal. Where will it get power from? I already have a bluetooth gps...just need a good mapping software for the 770. Hope they have something for it...
