Hello!

I'm a prospective buyer of the N810 and had a question regarding it's Flash playback abilities. I'm a flash developer so I'm wondering if:

1. Can the device playback SWF files directly? Or only inside a web browser?

2. If it can play back SWF directly, is it possible to have a full screen Flash app running w/o any other GUI elements visible?

Essentially I would like to program full screen apps for the device, but I want to make sure that is possible.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Following information is supplied on the basis of a contract where by you promise to buy an N810 and port over lots of apps for free

I just did a quick google search and downloaded an example .swf file (it was called propbinding, perhaps gives a clue of what it was about). This was done from the N810.

Closed the browser.

From the file manager went to the relevant directory. File had a nice flash icon on it (a good sign).

Tapped on the file.

It launched the web browser and bought up the content of the swf automatically. Just shows 9 buttons. Top Left, Top Center etc.

Not full screen, you still see the title bar, address bar app pane etc.

Press full screen button and it's full screen. Nothing visible except a gradient background and the 9 buttons.

On a different note, if you go to youtube, it plays the native files. You can click the full screen option and it goes full screen (with a controls pane along the bottm of the screen).

So I think that means you can buy an N810 now. What apps are you porting/writing first
